Fun fundraising ideas

There are a lot of ways to have fun while supporting Footloose FridayTM.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
Merchandise sales
Pens and pins are available to sell. Merchandise packs can be pre-ordered or purchased now if you want to take part.
Pay to wear purple
Put on something purple on the day and make a gold coin donation.
Everyday Hero
Use your social network to get footloose and funky online to fundraise for Footloose Friday™. Find out how to do it on www.footloosefriday.com.au
Fundraising barbeque
Footloose Friday™ is the perfect day to take a break from work and school lunches. Break out the bread, sausages and tomato sauce and have a good old-fashioned sausage sizzle.
Purple morning or afternoon teas
You don’t have to get purple with your food – just decorate your office, hall, school or classroom and have a purple morning or afternoon tea.
Food-loose Friday
Get food-loose with your food – purple cupcakes, purple coconut-ice, purple fairy-bread on a lovely purple foodstall or lunchroom table.
Purple fashion show
Put your best purple foot forward – a fashion show featuring the Footloose Friday™ colours – with spot prizes or perhaps a people’s choice for best dressed in purple.
Run, walk, bikathon
The run, walk or bikathon can simply be around your grounds or around a local park. Pre-register and obtain your pledges before the event. If people dress in purple there could also be a spot prize for the most creatively dressed (or best decorated purple bike) or a fine (enforced donation) for those not wearing anything purple.
Purple prose poetry competition
One for the English lovers – a lesson plan based around purple vs. non-purple prose and a competition for the most wondrous, amazingly creatively beautiful florid purple prose – or for the least purple.
For the schools - a lesson in poverty - where does the money go?
A Footloose Friday™ lesson on what it means not to be footloose and free. Base a lesson plan around Queensland’s disadvantaged. Discuss how it is possible for people to fall “between the cracks”. Wesley Mission Brisbane runs programs for young mums, for people who are being bullied, for the disassociated and for people who are disengaging from school, for those who have mental disorders which limit or prohibits their contribution to mainstream society and for the homeless and the aged. How can this be happening in our own country? In our own State? How does Footloose Friday™ help?
Dance for Footloose Friday™
Kick up your heels and have a Footloose Friday™ dance, add a little bit of competition, have spot prizes and dress it up in purple. You could even add an eighties theme and some of the music from the Footloose film soundtrack.
