Her Excellency Ms Penelope Wensley a visitor to Wesley Mission Brisbane

Residents of Wesley Mission Brisbane’s retirement community, Wheller on the Park, enjoyed afternoon tea with the Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency Ms Penelope Wensley.

The Director of Aged Care, Peter Sydes, the manager of Wheller on the Park, Chris Haines, and the resident who invited her Excellency, Lorna Anderson, welcomed Her Excellency and husband Stuart McCosker. After the exchange of speeches, residents had the chance to meet and mingle with Her Excellency in what was a very enjoyable event.

Her Excellency also had  the opportunity to see one of the display apartments in the contemporary independent apartments that make up Wesley Mission Brisbane’s Wheller on the Park retirement community.

Wesley Mission Brisbane established Queensland's first aged care community, Wheller Gardens at Chermside, in 1936 and continues to lead the way in aged care while also working extensively with Queensland’s homeless, disadvantaged, elderly, children, troubled youth, disabled and destitute.
