"The best investment I ever made was putting money into The Garden Settlement. It yielded rich dividends in human gratitude, comfort and honour”.
- Mr George Marchant

The Garden Settlement, now referred to as Wheller Gardens, at Chermside was built with land gifted by Mr George Marchant in 1936 and subsequent gifts including his house at Wilston Heights. Mr Marchant was a successful soft drink manufacturer who was known for his philanthropy including gifts to Montrose Access and 100 acres (40 hectares) to the Kedron Local Authority at Chermside now known as Marchant Park.

Our Fundraising, Corporate Engagement & Volunteering Departments aim to develop and maintain mutually beneficial partnerships between the organisation and the local community including: government, business, industry, residents, clients and other individuals and groups keen to advance our mission.

By supporting our organisation, you can be assured your gift will be assigned to help thousands of Queenslander’s in need. Whether that’s caring for the elderly, helping a young Queenslander stay in school, providing a warm meal to a young family, educating toddlers or finding meaningful employment for people living with disabilities - your gift can and will make a difference.

There are three simple ways you can get involved today!

Volunteer

With an organisation as large and diverse as ours, volunteers play a vital role in helping us improve the lives of the most vulnerable in our community. Opportunities are currently available to support people with disabilities, helping the elderly, providing transport or mentoring young people.

Donate

Our work reaches across all sections of the community, creating a compassionate, just, and inclusive society for all. In order to continue our programs and services, we rely heavily on private donations from people like you.

We currently have a number of urgent funding priorities and your gift directed to one of these programs can make a tangible difference to someone experiencing hardship right now.

Your gift can either be a financial gift (One-off gift, monthly debit), gifts of property (E.g. real estate, artwork) shares or trading stock.

Corporate Engagement

We are committed to partnering with like-minded organisations who share our passion to make positive and lasting differences in the community. We are dedicated to providing a partnership journey that reflects your commitment to helping others and one that meets your company’s objectives. Whether it be supporting your corporate social responsibility strategy, engaging in marketing-led brand building activities, volunteering or workplace giving, we seek to create mutually beneficial partnerships that deliver tangible results.
